Processing your donations and making sure they get a second life or recycled properly is a valuable service WE provide to the community. That said, there are things YOU can do to help US run smoother and more efficiently with the anticipated influx of new donations. This will be our new donation receiving protocol:
1)👗👖🧦👟 Remove hangers from clothing and put in plastic bags or boxes .
( This is not necessary for your clothing donations BUT if you KNOW there are clothes, shoes, purses, belts that are stained, ripped or damaged and can bag them separately, label them "textile recycle" we can put them directly in the bin that goes to our clothing-recycling-partner, saving us time as well. )
2) Bag or box up like items...📚books with books, 🧩🧸toys with toys (complete sets and in working order), 🧂🥣kitchen items with kitchen(no rust or mold) etc...
3) we accept electronics in WORKING order. 📸
4)Also appreciated, please try to remove 🕸cobwebs,🕷spiders,🐀 rodent poop and items with visible mold💣.
5)Box and bag up your items at least 3 days 👌prior to your appointment. [the New England Journal of Medicine found that the virus can live on surfaces for up to 3 days]
6) Make an appointment
We can accept donations from 10am-5pm Mon-Sat. Please do not leave donations outside of the store before or after donation hours as they can be stolen, vandalized and exposed to the elements causing them to become un-sellable requiring us to incur disposal costs directly impacting funding for our projects. Additionally, we appreciate your understanding that we may not be able to accept items that we deem unsafe or unsalable.
